Magnetite (magnetite ore) in BDO is a valuable resource that can be obtained by gathering basalt in Inner Edania. If you want to stock up on this ore yourself, head to Inner Edania and look for basalt rock formations.
The area north of the Aresion Temple is a great spot for gathering. There, amidst patches of flowing lava, you will find enough basalt to work through several deposits in sequence, allowing you to keep gathering while the previously mined nodes respawn.
In this guide, we will cover where to find
magnetite and how to gather it.
Magnetite Ore Mining
Magnetite ore can be gathered by workers at the Mount Dirfydan node. I recommend connecting the node so that a worker can start collecting it.
Gathering Magnetite
The fastest and most efficient way to obtain magnetite ore is by gathering it with a pickaxe. To maximize your yield, the best approach is to use Manos gear and tools while boosting your Gathering Mastery as high as possible. Don’t forget to use Agris Fever to increase the quantity of the primary gathered material.
You will need to gather Basalt, and you will obtain magnetite ore in the process. As byproducts, you will also gather Rough Stone and other items typically obtained via pickaxe gathering.
There is a very low chance of obtaining a Margahan’s Fragment and Olivine Ore while gathering magnetite ore.
Magnetite Gathering Locations
The basalt deposits are located above the Aresion Temple. The basalt veins resemble clumps of molten lava.

Here is a map showing the basalt deposit locations; there may be others not shown here.

Since the deposits are scattered relatively close to one another, you can avoid running all over the area by simply standing in one spawn zone and using your pet’s “Finds Resources” skill. That way, as soon as the deposits respawn, your pet will highlight them for you – making gathering much easier.
