Guide: Aphrodon Temple in Black Desert (Farming, Mechanics, Drops)

The Aphrodon Temple is a starting location in Inner Edania designed for endgame players. It is a stationary “tower-defense” style farming spot that relies heavily on passing a strict DPS check and managing waves of monsters. This guide will help you learn how to survive in the Aphrodon Temple and maximize your earnings.

Equipment requirements

The monsters in the Aphrodon Temple are quite strong. It is recommended to focus not only on the displayed attack stat but also on the total attack against Edania’s monsters.

Additionally, the monsters here frequently inflict Knockdown/Bound effects. It is crucial to reach 100% Knockdown/Bound Resistance using crystals.

The best choice is the Sycraia Crystal – Adamantine, but the Ancient Magic Crystal of Nature – Adamantine is a suitable alternative if you don’t have the former.

If you do not equip the aforementioned crystals, any crowd-control effect from the monsters will likely result in instant death.

Additionally, the monsters in this area belong to the Edania race; therefore, it is recommended to equip the HAN Crystal of Dusky Ruin (Extra AP Against Edanian Monsters +60) and use the Harmony Draught – Edania.

You might find farming this spot a bit challenging at first, but once you obtain the WON Wandering Origin Crystal, be sure to add it to your crystal setup.

It provides the following effects:
Extra AP Against Edanian Monsters +90
Monster Damage Reduction +20

You can craft it from fragments or obtain the complete crystal as a drop in this area.

How to reach and unlock the spot

The location is in the Inner Edania zone. The easiest way to navigate there is via the “Location Info” menu (Aphrodon Temple) or by clicking the golden tree icon on the world map.

There are 11 to 12 rotations available per server at this spot, each visually marked by a large Golden Tree in the center.

For those who prefer privacy, you can activate the Aphrodon Temple Scroll at the node manager’s location to access Marni’s Secret Room – purchase price: 110,000,000 Silver (indicated by the red square on the map above).

However, experienced players recommend grinding at the open-world spot, as the terrain and monster-grouping mechanics work more effectively there.

Be sure to pick up the initial monster-killing quests for this zone from the NPC who sells the Aphrodon Temple Scroll at the node; completing them can earn you the Twilight of the End – Earring as an extra reward!

Key Spot Mechanics and Farming Tactics

The Aphrodon Temple falls into the category of “tower-style” farming spots. You remain at a single location near the Golden Tree and eliminate waves of monsters.

The farming process consists of four repeating phases.

Activating the Spot

To trigger the monster summons, locate the solitary Scarecrow standing near the golden tree and destroy it. This activates the spawn point.

Monster Waves

Once the scarecrow is destroyed, waves of monsters will begin to appear. The key rule is that you have approximately 20 seconds to eliminate each group. Your farming strategy will essentially focus on quickly clearing these waves.

If you manage to defeat a wave in time, the encounter progresses. Every three successful waves summon a small scarecrow. You need to summon three small scarecrows (successfully clear 9 waves) to trigger the next phase.

Note: If your damage output is insufficient and you fail the DPS check, the spot will enter a defensive “sleep” phase; one of the scarecrows will wake up, disrupting the mechanic. You will have to keep killing monsters until the scarecrow returns to its original position.

Abundance

The “Abundance” phase activates each time a wave is successfully cleared. After the message “The energy of abundance is felt” appears, Agris will manifest in the form of either a Boar or a human. All you need to do is step aside and let him do his work – he will destroy all the monsters.

Scarecrow

The Scarecrow serves as an additional bonus. A Scarecrow appears in the same spot every time Agris manifests in his Boar or human form

There are 4 types of Scarecrows:

• Scarecrow with 1 jump
• Scarecrow with 2 jumps
• Scarecrow with 3 jumps
• Scarecrow appearing after Agris in human form (always jumps once)

Naturally, each type of Scarecrow has its own specific chance for a rare drop.

The Scarecrow’s leap is essentially the most dangerous moment at the spot; once it jumps, you have a few seconds to move away from your current position, as it will land exactly where you were standing when the jump began.

When the Scarecrow lands, a red circle will appear marking the impact zone, giving you time to dodge out of it.

If you fail to move in time, the Scarecrow will land on your character and deal damage equal to 90% of your HP, completely ignoring your Defense (DP), the time of day, and any active buffs.

When the Scarecrow is no longer preparing to jump, a targeting reticle will appear on it, and it will begin spinning on its post.

Try to defeat the Scarecrow at the same time as the smaller monsters to save time.

Once all mechanics are successfully executed and the monster waves are cleared, auto-farming begins after a short delay.
