Warzone Season 6 Gets Major Update: Here’s What Changed

The Warzone Season 6 update arrived on September 24 with a major batch of changes for Battle Royale and Resurgence. Raven Software has adjusted the in-match economy, reworked Supply Drones, changed ground loot, introduced new Ranked Play rules and continued the Halloween-themed The Haunting content.

Haunted Hollow Gets Even More Dangerous

Haunted Hollow remains one of the main attractions of the season. The Resurgence location has been transformed with a darker Halloween-themed design and several new gameplay elements.

The Ghost Train now travels through the map, but it does not remain in reality permanently. Players have to find a way to phase the train back into existence in order to access Supply Boxes, a Buy Station, a Mystery Box and other useful resources.

Trick or Treat Pumpkins have also appeared around the town. Interacting with them can provide valuable rewards, but players also risk receiving a negative surprise.

The season also introduces Giant Infected, a limited-time mode for 64 players. Eight players start the match as Infected, while the Survivors must collect DNA samples and build a DNA Bomb capable of stopping the outbreak.

Supply Drones Have Been Reworked

One of the most important parts of the Warzone Season 6 update is the Supply Drone rework.

Supply Drones are now concentrated around High Value Loot Zones instead of flying unpredictably across the entire map. Destroying them can cause additional drones to appear, up to a set limit for each circle.

Their loot has also been adjusted. Drones now carry more Legendary Crates and fewer non-Legendary ones.

The drones should also behave more predictably. They remain active for longer, fly more consistently and no longer spawn inside the gas.

Loot and Economy Changes

Ground loot has received several changes. Utility Boxes have been removed from the loot pool and replaced with Armor Boxes and Munitions Boxes.

The equipment pool has also been adjusted. Combat Axes have been replaced by Frag Grenades, while Flash Grenades have been replaced by Concussion Grenades.

Several lootable Perks have been changed as well. Contract rewards can now include Hunter, Tempered, Momentum and Shrouded, while Legendary Supply Boxes can contain Drill Instructor, Surveyor, Momentum and Shrouded.

High Value Loot Zones on Verdansk have also been updated, with Superstore, Hospital and Stadium becoming the designated locations.

Cluster Strikes are now available at Buy Stations for $4,000, while the Juggernaut Public Event has been disabled.

Ranked Play Gets Major Adjustments

Ranked Play has received some of the most significant competitive changes in the Warzone Season 6 update.

Season 6 is shorter, allowing the developers to test the impact of several aggressive changes more quickly. Deployment Fees have been increased for Diamond and higher divisions. As a result, the maximum amount of SR that can be earned in a single match is reduced at the top end of the ladder.

SR Challenges have also been disabled for the entire season.

At the same time, Ranked Loadouts have become more flexible. Several historically restricted items, including a thermal scope, a shotgun and launchers, are now available.

Weapon Balance and New Equipment

The update also changes the weapon meta. Raven Software says the goal is to bring some of the strongest AR and SMG options back in line while giving weaker weapons more opportunities to compete.

Season 6 also introduces new equipment and attachments. Players can unlock the Arcblade Melee Weapon and Roc 20mm Special through seasonal content, while additional attachments are available through Weekly Challenges.

AFK Changes and Bug Fixes

The Warzone Season 6 update includes numerous bug fixes and system improvements.

The AFK system has been adjusted to provide clearer warnings. Players can now receive an on-screen notification when the game detects inactivity, while teammates can also be warned when someone in their squad is inactive. According to Raven Software, the changes are intended to make AFK removals clearer and help address behavior designed to bypass inactivity checks.

Several exploits have also been removed. One fix prevents players from avoiding damage by remaining inside the Bank Vault interaction screen, while other fixes address unintended access to areas of the map.

The September 24 patch also changed C4 behavior. Players can no longer manually detonate C4 while in Last Stand, and several issues involving C4 and Loadout Crates have been fixed. Fortune’s Keep’s Boat Exclusion Zone has also been reduced from three uses to two, with its duration shortened from roughly 140 seconds to about 80 seconds.

What Does the Update Mean for Players?

The Warzone Season 6 update changes several parts of the everyday Warzone experience. Supply Drones are now more predictable, the loot pool has been reshuffled, and Ranked Play has received substantial changes at the higher divisions.

At the same time, The Haunting remains a major part of the season. Haunted Hollow, the Ghost Train and Giant Infected provide gameplay experiences that are very different from a standard Battle Royale or Resurgence match.

Season 6 is already live, and Raven Software says it will continue monitoring the impact of the changes. That means weapon balance and Ranked Play may still receive further adjustments as the season progresses.
