On September 3, 2026, the dream of many players who enjoy Life Skills came true in Black Desert.
With all Life Skill gear now integrated as Family-wide gear, it can be managed from a single gear UI, just like existing Life Skill tools.
All characters in your Family can now benefit from the same Life Skill gear effects, making it easier to manage gear setups for each Life Skill
How does this work
Since you can use a single, unified Life Skill gear interface, you can simply arrange all the necessary items for every type of Life Skill gear — including tools, clothes, accessories, artifacts, matchlocks, and so on.
The integrated Life Skill UI has gear slots for each Life Skill category.
Accessories, alchemy stones, and Evergreen Orb only need to be equipped in one category to apply their effects to all Life Skills, while all other items must be equipped individually per category.
Improved Life Skill alchemy stones to be equippable by Season Characters.
Life Skill gear stats now always apply to the entire Family and Combat gear stats now also apply to Life Skill content.
How to check the equipment’s operation
In other words, once you have loaded the necessary Life Skill items into the appropriate slots, they begin working immediately; you do not need to select anything further. You can verify their operation as follows: open Character Info (P) – Life Skills – Details. You will see that all effects are active and your Life Skill Mastery has increased across all categories
How to use a matchlock
The matchlock to no longer occupy the main or sub-weapon outfit slots.
You can now select the matchlock while in a combat stance.
Tap the “Change Stance” icon at the top of the screen and select the matchlock.
