Details of the update for the Global Lab BDO test server, which was released on Friday, August 14, 2026.
Please note that Black Desert test server update information applies specifically to the test server itself and is subject to change when the official servers are updated.
Class
Today’s update includes PvE balance adjustments for some classes and PvP balance adjustments for Agent.
As with the previous PvE balance update, these adjustments aim to narrow the damage gap between classes while taking into account each class’s survivability, stability, and the fatigue and difficulty of combat. We also have plans for further balance adjustments to some classes.
With Inner Edania now introducing new monster zones and items, we will continue to make careful adjustments to provide Adventurers with a better PvE experience. Thank you.

War Proposal
Alongside the Guild Fame system update, the guild war declaration system has also changed, allowing guilds to declare war without the opposing guild’s consent by spending Guild Fame. However, even in cases where both guilds wanted a war, only the guild that declared it first had to spend Guild Fame. To address this, the War Proposal function has been added, allowing both guilds to enter a war without spending Guild Fame if they both agree.
- A [Propose War] button has been added next to the existing [Declare War] button in the War Declaration UI.
- If you press that button to propose war to an opposing guild, your fame will not decrease.
- War begins only if the guild receiving the proposal accepts it, and since it is a mutually agreed-upon war, neither guild’s fame score decreases.
- A war established by accepting a war proposal lasts for a maximum of 6 hours.
- Once a war is established by accepting a war proposal, there is no waiting time required to propose it again after it ends, and you can send another war proposal immediately.

- With the addition of the war proposal feature, a setting has been added to allow rejecting war proposals at any time.
- Menu (ESC) – Game Settings – Others – Reject Guild War Proposal

Fairy Appearance and Skill Selection
Black Desert features fairies with a variety of special appearances beyond the default.
However, Adventurers could not freely choose an appearance for their fairy without giving up their preferred inherent skill, as each appearance came with a different skill effect.
With this update, you can now freely choose your fairy’s appearance and skill separately.
- You can now set the fairy’s appearance and skills separately.
- After selecting the desired appearance from the list, you can select and apply the skill to use at the bottom.
- Appearances you own are displayed in the list, and appearances you do not own can be purchased via the purchase button at the bottom.
- However, limited appearances whose sales period has ended are not displayed in the list.
- You can only select skills possessed by fairies you currently own; you cannot select skills from fairies you do not possess.

Item
Cup Extraction Change
Extracting a Cup from a reformed accessory previously required Refined Essence of Emotions. This system was originally designed to provide additional uses for various items obtained from sources such as Elvia monster zones.
Now that numerous updates have brought us to Inner Edania, we determined that this purpose has diminished and that the system mainly creates inconvenience when extracting Cups from accessories. As such, we have made Cup extraction from accessories easier and more convenient.
- The items required to extract the following improved accessories have been changed.
- Before: Refined Essence of Emotions
- After: Mirror of Equilibrium
The Blacksmith NPC, Wacky Toshi, has stopped selling Fused Crystal of Emotions.
- It has been changed so that Refined Essence of Emotions can no longer be produced.
- Accordingly, the description of the related item has been changed.
- Shard of the Furious Night, Shard of the Tearful Night, Shard of the Drained Night
- During the scheduled maintenance on August 19, 2026 (Korea) and August 20, 2026 (Global), any Refined Essence of Emotions and Fused Crystal of Emotions you possess will be deleted, and the materials and silver used for crafting will be returned.
- Accordingly, the description of the related item has been changed.
- The repeatable quest to extract a goblet, which could be accepted from Lejenti in the basement of Glish in the Elvia region, has been changed so that it can no longer be accepted.
- Accordingly, the descriptions related to the improved accessories have been changed.
- During the scheduled maintenance on August 19, 2026 (Korea) and August 20, 2026 (Global), any quests that have been accepted will be cancelled, and items handed over to NPCs will be returned.
- The description of the Mirror of Equilibrium item has been improved due to changes in the extraction method for Accessory Enhancement Stones.
- Detailed descriptions regarding the appearance when wearing the Godslayer’s Armor Outfit have been added.

- A cheering animation has been added when obtaining Embers of Ynix item from a safe zone into a chest.

Simplified Main Questline Acceptance Condition Change
New Adventurers will no longer be able to select the simplified questline as their first main questline.
While choosing the simplified questline first offered some convenience, it could also leave new Adventurers without important information and experience needed for their journey, making later progression more difficult.
To provide a better experience for new Adventurers, first-time main quest progression will now follow the standard questline instead of the simplified questline.

UI
Guild Strategy Mapping
The Guild Strategy Mapping feature has been added to help guild members share strategies and coordinate more effectively.
You can now use this feature to mark paths directly on the World Map and set each mapping’s name, color, and shape. A variety of other functions have been added to Guild Strategy Mapping as well. We hope this addresses some of the difficulties Adventurers have faced when planning strategies for content such as Node Wars and Conquest Wars.
We will continue to improve features that help guild members share information and work together more efficiently. Thank you.
- A guild strategy guide feature has been added to the world map.
- A Guild Strategy Guide button has been added to the top of the World Map (M), and you can open the window by clicking the button.
- You can assign a shortcut for the Guild Strategy Guide through the World Map Shortcut Settings button at the bottom right of the World Map (M).
- A Guild Strategy Guide button has been added to the top of the World Map (M), and you can open the window by clicking the button.

- To use the Guild Strategy Guide, you need Guild Strategy Guide permissions, and guild members without permissions can only view the generated path.
- The generated path can be viewed on the world map (M) and minimap.

The function of each button in the Guild Strategy Guide is as follows.

① Create Path Button: You can create a path.– You can create up to 10 paths, and add up to 10 points to each path.
② Add Memo button: You can specify a name for the path.
③ Settings button: You can set the shape and color of the path.
④ Delete button: Click to delete the corresponding path.
※ If you need to modify the path, press the Del key on the keyboard to delete in reverse order starting from the most recently created point.
※ To delete only a specific point, hover your mouse cursor over the point and press the Del key.
※ Guild members with the necessary permissions can create a path by clicking the mouse wheel while holding down the Ctrl key, without having to click the Create Path button.

System
This update includes a number of optimizations aimed at providing a more stable gameplay environment. We are continuously looking into the instabilities Adventurers have reported, and this update applies several improvements to help mitigate them. In particular, we identified that data processing becomes concentrated when a large number of Adventurers move at once, and we have worked to reduce the instability this can cause. As a result, the issue in certain regions where bosses spawned already dead is expected to improve. Additionally, for more stable data processing, we have added a buffer of about 15 seconds to login notifications. Just as characters currently have a wait time of about 10 seconds when moving to a different server, this measure allows momentarily concentrated data to be processed in sequence. As a result, notifications such as guild member login notifications will appear about 15 seconds later than before, which may feel somewhat unfamiliar at first. This is a necessary step toward building a more stable environment, so we ask for your understanding. We have also applied further optimizations for the frame rate drops we have continued to monitor since our previous improvements. We hope this work alleviates the issue, and we will keep monitoring after the update. Optimization will not end with this update. We will continue to examine the factors affecting your gameplay environment and steadily make improvements wherever they are needed.
